Afterwards, continue back to Harar for exploration of colorful Islamic market. Day 4: Harar – Dre Dawa
In the morning, visit the last places of interest in Harar including the Arthur Rimbaud Cultural Center, named after the famous poet and traveler who resided in Harar for a portion of his life. In the afternoon, proceed driving to Dire Dawa. Overnight at smart Hotel in Dre Dawa.
Day 5: Dre Dawa and Laga Oda Rock Paintings
Morning drive to Laga Oda Rock painting site (32km from Dire Dawa) & discover the pre historic cave paintings (dated back 700 BC). Lunch in Dire Dawa. In the afternoon, after lunch, visit the city of Dire Dawa; the mosaic of culture, the museum of people. Almost all culture from all around the country and the world are displayed in this remarkable city. The French, Bulgarians, Greeks, Armenian and Indians had putted their cultural effect on, which is now reflecting on the architectural style the buildings. In the town you can visit the Armenian and Greek Orthodox Church, the Balian Crematorium that were using this place for their cultural funeral ceremony. They use to burn the bodies of the dead in this specific place, and also visit the Ethiopian Millennium memorial park established to celebrate the Ethiopian Millennium and promote the ancient cave paintings which were drawn before 5000 years. It have a replicas of the cave paintings on huge stone and there are also five cultural houses which represents the Amhara, Tigre, Oromo, Somali, Harari, Guragehe and other ethnic groups cultural houses and utensils. Early morning start driving to Awash NP, In the Awash National Park you will see the elegant Beisa Oryx grazing on the savanna plains. Also Soemmering’s gazelle, Dikdiks, greater and lesser Kudu and Waterbuck can be observed. The park is well known for its 460 bird species from which 6 are endemic. Day 4: Drive to Harar
Drive From Awash to the great city walls, and the French poet Rimbaud's house. Harar is an Islamic centre with at least 99 mosques, and is considered to be the fourth holiest Islamic city, after Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem. Early in the evening visit the Hayena Man. Overnight Hotel - Harar.
Day 5: City tour in Harar and drive to Dire Dawa
Inside the wall city visit the museum of the Harari National Cultural Centre which is designed like a typical Adare houses. Other interesting places are the 17th century Jami mosque, Rimbaud house, birth place of Emperor Haile Selassie Ras Tafari house. Late in afternoon drive to Dire Dawa. Day 6: Drive Debre Ziet
